#ManCandyMonday – Villans for October – #PaulBettany as Unabomber

I love Paul Bettany, and he’s had a ton of really interesting roles. My favorite is his portrayal of Geoffrey Chaucer in A Knight’s Tale with Heath Ledger. This year, he’s playing Ted Kaczynski in a miniseries Manhunt: Unabomber.

Fun fact, in 1995, in Sacramento the Unabomber bombed an office building near my work. I remember the helicopters flying around our building, fire trucks, and other emergency vehicles crowding the streets. It was weird, knowing something happened in the next block, but not quite sure what it was. After that, we were instructed to not open any mail that didn’t have a return address.

I’m still leery of guys wearing hoodies.

I’m not sure what our psychological fascination is with sociopaths, but I’m not sure I’ll watch the miniseries, even though I’m sure Bettany will be wonderful. I’m not sure we should spotlight evil in our species. But then again, that’s why I write romance, and not literary fiction or horror.

What do you think?
