Many years ago I taught middle school science and I enjoyed the “simple machines” lesson because in class they would make a Rube Goldberg machine, using all the simple machines they’d learned about in practice. I still have boxes of blocks, balls, wedges, and odds and ends to get rid of. Nick Park had some great examples of Rube Goldberg creations in Wallace and Grommet animations.
